Legendary Roast Beef Restaurant Site

Lion's Choice is a privately held, regional fast food chain that sells quality "real" roast beef. The company was founded in 1967 and has a rich history in St. Louis, Missouri, their primary market. Known for quality, taste, and nutrition, Lion’s Choice has positioned their brand as the upscale and healthy alternative to fast food.

Background

The previous website was outdated and needed a fresh look. The design was a bit cluttered, and very playful, which went against the brand they were trying to develop: Modern and Edgy. Lion’s Choice was targeting a newly identified market of the younger generation. The New tag line was “Get Real”, with graffiti- like effect on the text. Their campaigns were around extreme sports.

This previous site was also more of a stopping point for information, and didn’t allow for user interaction, social integration or specialized marketing. A key business goal was having an easy to update website that could build up and cross promote with social media.

We reached a key business goal to have a site that cross promoted through social media and were able to gather over 14,000 Lion’s Nation members as a part of our loyalty and rewards group.

Our Process

Once the goals and objectives were identified, we guided Mark and his team to choose several peer websites and rate their designs, styles and layouts. This starts the basis of the creative process.

For a custom project, like Lion’s Choice, it is critical to establish the “blueprints” or foundation of the website architecture. These wireframes are a visual checklist of all parameters, from navigation to flow, function and layout of the site’s real estate.

With approved wireframes, the designers created comps that matched the visual brand of the new and modern Lion’s Choice. Our talented cut and integration team took those approved designs and within a few more weeks, the Lion’s Choice website had come to life.

The Results:

  • Gathered over 14,000 Lion’s Nation members as part of their loyalty and rewards group online
  • Implemented search and filtering capabilities of the various storefront locations based on zip code
  • Reinforced their value proposition of quality, taste and nutrition by graphically
  • representing their nutrition facts in comparison with the competition
